WestREAP (Rural Education Activities Programme) first implemented the Early Reading Together® programme in 2018.

Come and join your favourite Melody Makers tutor for three informative and fun-filled sessions on tools and techniques for reading to your child (aged 0-6 years). Support your child's learning to read journey by attending this FREE programme (children welcome).

Just completed our last session of the Early Reading Together® programme in Greymouth. A wonderful group of parents all ready to practice some new tips and tricks for reading with their children. Thanks to Anthony Hunter and the Grey District Library for hosting this final session.

Tracey Hutt and I ran the Early Reading Together® programme in Greymouth with 14 eager parents and great support from Anthony Hunter at the Grey District Library.
One parent commented: "I have more ideas for how to keep us both engaged in reading – expressions, singing, actions, ‘doing’ books".

A programme for whānau to learn how to promote their children's language and literacy development through reading.

Tracey Hutt led the WestREAP Early Reading Together® programme in Greymouth last week with a beautiful group of mums and bubs all engaged listening to her. This is a MoE funded programme to teach special reading techniques to parents, with the aim to have their tamariki loving books and reading themselves as they get older.

The 2nd week of WestREAP Early Reading Together® workshop had Lisa enjoy bottle time with the twins while mums worked together (Mana Tangara) on decoding a new made up language so they could experience how it feels when their little ones start reading.
